Why do we like this?

I first discovered Italian trip-hop producer Cibils through Headphone Nation, a music blog that I've come to admire greatly. Cibils, who has a quiet social media presence, released his debut EP in March, and right away I knew I wanted to share "Optimally."

It's such a meandering, obscure instrumental that leans into video game soundtrack territory without being cartoonish. Cibils knows how to craft a well-rounded, original beat. Fingers crossed this post exposes some of you fellow beat heads to the righteous vibes coming out of Italy.
