Rave music is making a comeback, and Melbourne is no exception - with all the glum happenings around the world, you can understand why! Christopher Port has marked himself as one of Australia's finest proponents of the revival movement, with his most recent single "My Love" his a perfect example of his work.
Released as part of a two-track last year, it showcases the multi-instrumentalist producer's stellar use of builds. A sampled vocal repeats throughout, with twitching percussion and throbbing synth creating just enough space and atmosphere for the vocal to work with. The track's finale is a euphoric dance music at its most potent, and no matter how much I listen to it the effect it has does not differ.
2017 will see Christopher Port add to his growing portfolio of releases, and I for one cannot wait to hear what comes next.
