I first heard Christine And The Queens' "People, I've Been Sad" while watching the Global Citizen's One World: Together At Home Special 'Concert' by Lady Gaga. Since then, it keeps popping back up, and every time, it catches my attention.
Have you ever watched someone speaking in a language that is not your own? It's pretty much sounds ushering forth from a moving mouth, and not much more. In those moments, it's hard to believe that they're (possibly) expressing so much, and at the same time, one can remain totally unmoved. Well, whether or not you understand French, when Christine And The Queens' sound hits you, you're moved.
To be honest, her live-stream performance was better than the recorded version but that can be seen as a pro rather than a con, no?
