Why do we like this?

If this qualifies as modern pop, I'm all for it. Chris Meid's "Red River" caught my attention instantly.

It has the upbeat tempo of a daytime disco track, with excellent production a la Avicii. Top that with vocals that remind me a touch of Mumford & Sons (not to mention the banjo), and you've got yourself a damned-infectious single.

Sure it's already two months old. That doesn't mean I can't make it today's Song of the Day.
