I was first introduced to CHPTRS this past December when a good friend of mine showed me their version of "Auld Lang Syne," which quickly became the signature track to my holidays. The Los Angeles duo, comprised of Josh Auer and Jerad Atherton, continue to make a name for themselves with their so-called "cinematic indie-rock" sound.
UTAH, the project of Jared Logan and Zane Callister (and coincidentally the name of my home state), has been on my radar for a few years now. According to their Soundcloud profile, their music is a "hip hop driven melodic experience that will leave you both rapt and inspired" -- and it's true. You know that friend who is always there to hype you up, to jump off a cliff or to send that risky text? Listening to UTAH is like having that friend by your side.
This remix is a phenomenal marriage between the sounds of these two groups that showcases the songwriting talents of CHPTRS as well as the crazy production skills of UTAH.
