Copenhagen-based Choir of Young Believers is back with their single, "Paint New Horrors," taken from their newest album, Rhine Gold. This track is a lovely little orchestral pop number that mixes the ethereal with theatrical.
The song opens up with a simple synth, cello, and clearly defined vocals -- much like a Queen song. Soon thereafter the drums, electric guitar, bass, and piano are introduced, which all quickly transform the song into a woozy yet structurally sound format. With each new verse, the track slows a little, but speeds back up again quickly. Nearing the end of the song, Choir of Young Believers all of a sudden sound like a lovely tripped out modern day Beatles: classic, tasteful, innovative and so beautifully catchy.
This is not a band you should pass up. And you're in luck! Their LP Rhine Gold is ready for you to own. Enjoy it here!
