Why do we like this?

So, I had an entirely different review about 5 minutes ago -- then I did some research. Always do your research.

Chiwoniso, who is the late sister of Tendai Maraire (aka Chimurenga Renaissance or 1/2 of Shabazz Palaces), was both an expert mbira player and singer. This release is a tribute to her.

For those of you who don't know what an mbira is, you'll probably remember it as one of those wooden boxes with long metal strips for keys that you find in your adventurous aunt's living room. For Chiwoniso, it was an art that she was able to master, and boy did she do that!
