Okay, so many of you might have seen that Childish Gambino just leaked a new track off his upcoming album. In case you missed it, you can catch it over at Pretty Much Amazing. But before you go over there, I must warn you: you're probably wasting your time. I think the song sucks, and I think you'll be disappointed.
Why? Well besides the terrible sound quality of the reggae style (Matisyahu anyone?), my problem with Childish is that every single song I hear appears to have the same smart-ass lyrics. First: "why does everyone always question my rapping?" Then a couple pop references, and finally he delves straight into "fucking them small Asian girls" (actual lyrics may vary). Really? Gimme a break.
So why am I posting a Childish track as SOTD? Two reasons: it features Chiddy Bang, famous for their indie-rock hip-hop melting skills. Secondly, he sounds hella sick on mashup tracks (the ultimate case and point: this Adele mashup). Call it a double standard if you will.
