Donald Glover's musical career is about to kick up a notch. He recently signed a deal to star, write and executive produce a new show on FX titled Atlanta, and he's also on the verge of releasing his second studio album Because The Internet.
The downside is that all this extra work means he's taking a step back from his role on NBC's Community. But given that I don't really watch much TV, I'm pretty stoked about hearing more tunes.
"Sweatpants" is the latest peek at what's to come, and boy does it bang home. His approach on the song may best be categorized as 'gangster rap,' and while typically not my favorite genre, I can't seem to help myself from hitting repeat.
Unfortunately, it seems that this song leaked before Donald had wanted it to. Earlier this morning he took to Twitter to vent his frustration.
im pissed. this song was not supposed to come out tonight

im trying to create one of the more imaginative rollouts, and other people's lust for money and impatience is ruining it

to be clear, im not talking about my fans, or blogs, or anyone who post my music after leaks. i want my music out

Sorry Donald, but this one's just too good not to share.
