Why do we like this?
There are fortuitous moments, when you stumble upon the right song at a time when your very appreciation of it is allowed to just magnify. This is one of those times for me.
Don't be fooled by the Lapalux-sounding chords that ebb and flow underneath a tumbled slurring of Chief Keef's lyrics. This is D33J through and through. It's an effective, almost witch housey, mangling and reassembly that does two things: underscores the desperation of lyrics in a sincere way, and also alludes to the ludicrousness of the rap genre at large ("Gasoline Feelings" renders this a clear commentary).
Marvel, at a minimum, at what D33J accomplishes just by touching something already considered complete.
He is one to start watching, if you haven't already been.
