Why do we like this?
This is a great beatstrumental track from Swiss producer Chief. It reminds me of the 70s, something sort of like disco beats infused with groove. I love the chopped up vocals and glitch feel.
We last covered Chief back in April, but since then he's been on the run, producing great tracks and racking up fans across the web. I really enjoyed another recent release, titled "Cry Baby," where he paired up with Deheb for a short little deep house track. It just shows the range he's got; no wonder he's described as "a dynamic producer who can fill the gap between classic beatmaking and forward thinking production." Did we mention that he produces for guys like Aloee Blacc, Blu, Co$$ and Sene? Not a bad roster. And he also DJs podcasts for stations like Groove Merchants Radio. Beatmaker is this guy's middle name.
You can listen to more hybrid/electric stuff on his SoundCloud. Apparently he'll release a new, exclusive track when he hits 4,000 fans. Only 50 to go. Keep your eyes (and ears!) peeled.
