Five months ago, I found myself standing alone on the shore of Gili Air, a small island in Indonesia. As I watched the blazing sun sink into a vivid oblivion of warm hues, I couldn't help but be moved by the beautiful simplicity of the moment. I was the farthest from home I'd ever been, and yet I'd never felt so sure that I was in the right place. This track took me back to that moment.
Tbh I love the original version of this song by Chet Porter, so I'm happy to say that Kidswaste stays true to the serene atmosphere of the track on this remix. He fills the sparseness with punchy percussion and soft but sweet vocal samples, transforming it into a perfect summery track.
Awash with lush trop-house synthscapes and glimmering musical flourishes, this version of "tbh ily" has a sunsoaked island feel that will transport you to incredible mental locales.
