Sounds like:
The Subways,
Crocodiles,
Small Black
Why do we like this?
English band Cheatahs are currently opening for Wavves on tour, and that's exactly how I stumbled upon them. Their four track EP, SANS, was released in late 2012, but I'm thinking they're gonna pick up some traction in the U.S. very shortly. Like right now.
The sound is very shoegazey, which I like, but it's not at the expense of the instrumentals. I think it's this hard versus fuzzy dichotomy that really makes "The Swan" stand out (though the rest of the EP skews much more shoegaze). But, I can tell they don't want me to be debating the intricacies of their sound, so just gonna chillllll outtttt... I mean rock out... I mean chill out...
Catch them live as they sweep down the East Coast!
