Sounds like:
The Weeknd,
Bryson Tiller,
Che Ecru
Why do we like this?
I was writing for Et Musique Pour Tous when we first got a hold of The Weeknd. This was long before he became the superstar he is today. Anyway, there was something about the way his music was constructed that captured all of us. We loved every ounce of it.
I think what I loved most about it was how different it was and how hard it was to find someone else that sounded like it. I get that here, with Che Ecru and this future R&B song titled "Berries."
Of course, I have to name the obvious culprits -- a bit of El Weeknd, a dab of F. Ocean and even a slight nod to Bryson T., yet it's still hard to point to anyone else and call this it's clone.
Che produced, wrote, sang, designed, mixed and mastered this, so shouts to him on a job well-done!
