Charlotte Day Wilson just released her debut EP CDW. If you haven't listened to it yet, you should go ahead and do that after this song and let the swooning commence in full. The Canadian crooner just has it.
I once heard someone say that listening to Norah Jones is like sinking into warm bathwater, and Wilson's voice evokes similarly therapeutic images. Maybe it's nestling into a red velvet arm chair in front of a slow-burning fireplace on a cold winter night with some sort of smoky cocktail in hand. Maybe it's cozying up to someone you love on a couch while a crackly old movie plays. No matter what it is, the feeling is wonderful and it sticks.
"Where Do You Go" is Exhibit A, taking let down and longing on an elegant glide through some low-humming, jazzy instrumentals and finger snaps. I really don't see any reason to take this off repeat anytime soon.
