Charlie XCX is doing big things. She just released her True Romance album, and last weekend she unveiled this unexpected-yet-killer remix of "What I Like" featuring the lyrical flow of Detroit rapper Danny Brown.
If you've taken a peek at both versions, you won't notice too much difference between them. The remix takes the beats and turns them up a bit, but when laid side by side, the rework stays decently true to the vibe of the original.
I don't know about you, but I shamelessly love Danny Brown's ferocious verses. He's unconventional, yes, but when he throws down, I can't help but whip out the gangster bitch inside me and dance. His rambunctious nature combined with Charli's relaxed vocals create something that's gritty and quite enjoyable.
