Why do we like this?
Let's take a minute or two to smooth things out a bit with a milky single by Charles Hammond Jr., "(Re)Introduction." Based out of Chicago, Charles Hammond Jr. may not be known yet, but with his mass appeal it's very possible that he'll gain momentum soon. His debut EP, Hello, My Name Is...., drops on April 10.
"(Re)Introduction" starts slow, with just a keyboard and Charles' voice, which is obviously one of the most beautiful instruments utilized in this track. The harmonies are bone-chilling, the horn(s) swirling, the keyboards dazzling, the beat seducing... it's everything a classic R&B song should be: tasteful, simple and so catchy. Above all, the vocals that shine through. Everything about it is sleek and soulful.
As you may have noticed, the song ends abruptly. I don't know about you but I was enjoying it so much that I wasn't ready for that. Luckily, April 10 isn't too far away. Be sure to check back for more Charles Hammond Jr.!
