Why do we like this?

Chance The Rapper is not watching the throne. He's building a chapel around it.

Chance's newest, gospel-leaning mixtape is mesmerizing. I don't love every track, but there are enough gems on Coloring Book to say that this free album is likely better than any music you've paid for in 2016.

"Same Drugs" is my favorite cut, brimming with the kind of emotion, wordplay, and melody that separates Chance from the hip-hop rat race. The song may not be about drugs, but I'm addicted all the same.
