Holy Other,

Why do we like this?
A downright delicious release by way of London label Cohort. It's a Portuguese artist named Chainless, quite mysterious in nature.
Lots of eerie electronic synths on top of trembling tribal drums. Boiler Room summed it up as "[s]pectral, gothic, belting instrumental grime." I'm hearing a bit of witch house a la Holy Other, but basically it's stuff suitable for a horror film. No surprise that the inspiration came from a mix of John Carpenter films and Philip Glass.
As someone mentioned on the SoundCloud comments, the only problem with this track is that it's too short. You're left begging for more. Free download off Ancient Ruins on xlr8r for repeat listens, first EP drops March 31. Be on the lookout.
