Why do we like this?

Chad VanGaalen is totally rad. His latest album, Light Information, is fantastic. The video for the single, “Host Body,” has just been released and it is a trip, like it was made with crazy stuff that couldn’t be aired from an episode of Rick & Morty.

VanGaalen’s fragile vocals and vivid lyrics would fit perfectly somewhere in that world. This song feels cosmic, though it remains tied down to things we all find here on earth. His production is always on point, adding layer upon layer of adeptly played, keyed and programmed sounds to create a song that could be played anywhere in the galaxy. Eerie, yet soothing. Numbing while still sharpening one’s senses.
