Why do we like this?
San Francisco-based duo Cathedrals just dropped a new track this morning via Disco Naivete. Coming off the success of their breakout track "Unbound," it is clear that Cathedrals have something to say, and we are just at the beginning of their story.
Showing a different side of their musical coin, "Harlem" winds through a evolving power melody. Heavier on the female vocals compared to "Unbound," delicate synths, guitar, and percussion break to quick wall-of-sound instrumental sprints, adding just the right amount of volume into the track. The layered vocal effect is magnificent, creating a cacophony of ohhs and ahhs. The single is upbeat and lovely, each note working in pristine balance with the rest of the track.
