Why do we like this?
I'm about a month late on this sexy single, but I'm taken with its old school R&B vibe. Embarrassingly, the only Cassie stuff I know is off of remixes like "Me & U" or mega mainstream singles like "Numb" with Rick Ross. I'm pleasantly surprised to find such a soulful piece.
Clocking in at around five minutes, Cassie's breathy voice rocks against a creamy backtrack that snakes along till working into a smooth beat. It reminds me of old school Aaliyah, like a modern version of "Rock the Boat." Written and produced by Solange, the track is part of the younger Knowles' upcoming record label Saint Records. New material will be dropping from the likes of Sampha and Jhené Aiko -- stay on the look out.
