I am excited to announce that Caroline Rose’s fourth album,Superstar, will be released at the beginning of March via New West Records. "Feel The Way I Want" is the lead single and right away, you can tell that she doubled down on the whole synth-pop song with irreverent lyrics. It works beautifully, of course.
I remember stumbling upon a single from her last album a while back. I immediately fell in love with her danceable pop/rock melody and lyrics that felt like they should be sung with fast guitar riffs and bass lines. Maybe even some messy drums in a dimly lit place, full of kids running in a circle pit; I could be exaggerating, but it did feel punk as hell. She had a complete and confident disregard for social norms, but at the same time, just wanted to dance the angst away.
When she announced her new album on Instagram, she described it as, “a story about losing yourself but also finding the brazen self-confidence to follow a dream,” and the first single has exactly that vibe.
Oh, and FYI, the neon sign on her cover art is real, and she’s planning on making an infinity mirror out of it.
