Why do we like this?

To the uninitiated, a Daphni edit of Caribou may sound boring, or just something you glaze over. For those who know that Daphni is the solo moniker of Dan Snaith, aka Caribou's talented frontman, it's highly exciting -- like getting a bonus double chocolate chip cookie in your regular chocolate chip cookie bag. Yum, right?

Where Caribou is suave and sophisticated, Daphni brings grit, soul, and face-slapping beats. This edit of the recently released "Our Love" is no different. The original is emotive and beautifully depraved; Snaith's solo edit layers in heavier bass and overt synths.  It's hard hitting and sticky, and perfectly represents the dual musical personalities that Snaith juggles so well.
