Why do we like this?

For many music lovers, 2014 was the year of Caribou: his newest album was anything but disappointing as a follow up to the brilliant 2010 album, Swim.

While revisiting the latter, I found this remix by Motor City Drum Ensemble which we seem to have overlooked at release. Sure it's a few years on, but I think it's definitely worthy of a post.

MCDE's take on "Leave House" is quite beautiful.  Ever-present percussion spans almost every layer of their remix, following suit from Caribou's complex and deep aesthetic.  Dan Snaith's vocals still carry their innocent yet harrowing style as the track works through its horizontal build.  Extremely well designed, this remix is standing the test of time.
