French-born, Midlands-grown Cara Sebastian makes a self-described brand of "spooky folk" with "wonky pop" inflections of a mellow variety akin to the sweet sounds of Feist. Her self-taught guitar style draws inspiration from the likes of early Ani DiFranco and old skiffle and string, while her addiction to 80s and 90s pop and soul have lent her a romantic sensibility clearly executed in her heartfelt songs.
"Wolves," the title track to her debut EP of the same name released back in October 2012, is a gently lilting musical marriage of endearing lyrics, delicate vocals, and artful harmonies that makes for perfect rainy day listening. Currently away in Italy writing new material, she's also set to premiere a new video in the upcoming weeks, so watch this space!
