With a desire for “Frank Ocean’s voice and James Brown’s stage presence,” Car Seat Headrest shares an updated version of their energetic and emotional single from 2011 of the same name, “Cute Thing.”
The main difference between the two versions lies in the sound, bringing piercing guitars, harmonious background vocals and punchy drums to the picture, as well as swapping out Dan Bejar and John Entwistle for Ocean and Brown, respectively.
In a press release about the upcoming project, Will said that:
It was never a finished work, and it wasn't until last year that [he] figured out how to finish it.
Will Toledo released the first rendition of this album in 2011, along with this lengthy, lo-fi track on his Bandcamp 7 years ago, but the new, re-recorded version of the album, Twin Fantasy, will be out on February 16th.
