It's been just around six months since Canblaster dropped his joint-effort EP with Lido, Superspeed.
Well, the French producer is back, once again with Pelican Fly, but this time around it's his story to be told. With the excitement behind upcoming EP Continue, I remain hopeful it shares some of the same qualities as his previous work.
The first single, "Encore DX," is equal parts clean-cut experimental dance music as it is stylistically eclectic sound art. The label stated that with sound design as the focal point, the concept behind the EP is "a soundtrack to a video game that doesn’t exist yet," and each track is like a “miniature universe” or “snow-globe."
None of this is surprising, when looking back to Superspeed. Sound design has always seemed to be a big focus for Club Cheval member Canblaster. And the aspect of being a sonic project -- a musical story that's meant to be listened to from start to finish --is something that made me fall in love with his and Lido's EP. So clearly there's no doubt we're all in for a treat with Continue, right?
