"Hypercolour" is the product of techno juggernaut, Camelphat, and rockstar, Yannis Phillipakis, of Foals. This collaboration is one I was excited to hear, and I am super happy with the result. Rarely do the worlds of techno and indie-rock collide, but Camelphat continue to set themselves apart on their path to the upper echelon of dance music.
Siren-like synths and pulsating rhythms generate a techno track brimming with energy and tension. Yannis' yearning vocals contribute a beautiful touch of emotion. The combination of mesmerizing synths, bittersweet vocal, and powerful bass tones give this track that transcendent feeling all the techno lovers out there are chasing.
The exciting part about this collaboration is that the track will reach an audience that might not listen to techno, and hopefully they like what they hear. Unique tracks like these certainly encapsulate the beauty techno music can hold.
