Why do we like this?

Five-piece Camden have all the characteristics of a great Brit pop band - the only thing is, they're from Australia! The Sydney-siders are a relatively new group, but are already developing a following locally on the back of a couple of upbeat, poppy singles (which you can grab on the band's Bandcamp).

Their new track "Too Pretty for Punk" is bound to help increase their popularity. Recorded with Evan McHugh (who has previously worked with the likes of Jet and Midnight Oil), it highlights lead singer Camden Chan's polished storytelling. Add in tight percussion and sparkling guitar and you get a completely addictive pop track.

Their sound reminds me of The Kooks or The Wombats (and various other "The" bands), so if you like bands of that ilk, you're likely to love these guys. I've never seen them live, but if their music is anything to go by, I'm sure they're a riot.
