Cam O'Bi, the producer behind all the records you love, is back with solo work featuring fellow Chicago artist Smino. O'Bi's influence is extensive; he's worked on Chance's Acid Rap and produced a substantial portion of Noname's debut album, Telefone. O'Bi has produced records for a myriad of well known artists including J. Cole, Isaiah Rashad, Saba, SZA, Moses Sumney and more.
O'Bi brings the vibes on this record by mixing uniquely cheery sounds with layered vocal samples, reminiscent of popular Coloring Book loosie, "Grown Ass Kid," which he also produced. Cam comes out from behind the boards on this track and shakes things up by rapping over his own beat. His soulful voice we also hear on the hook, which we have merely gotten glimpses of on features.
This song is the first single off O'Bi's upcoming project entitled Grown Ass Kid, which as of right now, has no known release date. In the meantime, however, do yourself a favor and listen to a track so chill you can't help but feel it flow from the speakers.
