“By and By” reminds me of driving along windy back-roads on the outskirts of my hometown, while thinking about that girl. You know the one. The girl who made every nerve in your body spark all at once. The one that took way too long to clear out of your mind.
Evan Westfall’s banjo-pluckin’ fingers let the mind drift to simpler times throughout “By and By." It’s worth listening to the full album from beginning to end. Caamp’s raspy voice catches you in a peculiar way, and the energy of each song picks up and slows down at just the right time.
This Athens, Ohio trio released their first self-titled album in 2016, and have been rapidly growing in popularity since. Over the last year or so, indie folk has taken a special place in my heart, and in my opinion, Caamp is one of the best out there.
