Chet Faker is a man that can do no wrong. The bearded maestro has gone from strength to strength in the past twelve months, with his unique style gaining plenty of attention outside his native Australia.
Late last year, in the rural town of Newstead (a few hundred kilometers out of Melbourne), he performed a few tracks in an old Butter Factory. Included in his recital was an extraordinary cover of influential UK-producer Burial's "Archangel" single. Supported by his band, Faker's deep, soulful voice comes to the fore, completely re-inventing Burial's most well-known work. You can check out the live video below.
The coming year will be a huge one for this incredible talent, with an international breakout inevitable. If you've been living under a rock and haven't heard his other releases, I suggest you get over to his SoundCloud quick smart.
