Back in August 2013, I became very excited about American four-piece Brolly. Their track "Hollow Home Rd" was a serene, humbling folk number that left a beautiful imprint on me, but having not even heard a peep from them in 12 months, they were really just a memory.
Things can change quickly, though, and this morning out of seemingly nowhere their new single "Wolfe" snared my attention, unveiling something undeniably special.
With an increased natural depth and textural complexity to their sound, "Wolfe" heralds a refreshing and rewarding new direction for the band. Fluttering guitars, grandiose drums, a small children's choir (they mean business), and Jake Ithurburn's warm vocals make "Wolfe" is an intimate indie folk anthem with big ideas at heart.
