Why do we like this?
This is not a hip-hop track! So don't get too excited. Rather, this is a remix that Donald Glover pulled together while he was still in college (and just re-released). He doesn't rap on it. He just does the whole remixy thing, and it's quite nice if you ask me.
The track in his cross-hairs is Broken Social Scene's "Hotel," which comes off their eponymous third studio album, Broken Social Scene. Released back in 2005, Donald Glover (now known widely as Childish Gambino) remixed the track using the moniker Page Turner / mc DJ. He then submitted it to Adult Swim, and nothing happened?
Fortunately, six years later, music blogs dominate the webosphere. If Donald puts a track up on Soundcloud, it's bound to get some attention.
