Why do we like this?
It seems that every few months I come across a piece of hip hop that opens my eyes and ears to yet another talented emcee. In May, it was Houston artist Bonda who flipped Mac Miller's "Best Day Ever" quite nicely. This week, I was introduced to Bramzwig, a New York rapper who also shouts out Boston on his SoundCloud.
Besides his name being close to Bonda's in the obscure emcee phone book, Bramzwig also tweaked and went in over a good beat. The DJ Carnage-produced "Big Spender" was a big track for Theophilus London and A$AP Rocky back in April, but Bramzwig manages to floss a little of his own here. He's got one hell of a flow and his wordplay impressed me way more than anything I heard on the original.
