What are you thankful for today? I'm thankful for BOYO.
BOYO's latest album release remains faithful to his usual style of slow, clouded vocals over dreamy beats that place him in the category of bedroom pop. However, this album travels down a route that is stronger in psychedelic and experimental influence. It's a refreshing deviation from traditional bedroom pop.
"Real Life" is short and sweet, leaving you wanting more. So your only choice is to re-listen to it like a million times until you've listened to it so much that you move onto another one of his songs (which is equally as good).
This track reminds me of older synth-pop projects, like Neon Indian, or old Toro y Moi, due to its funky '80s synths, almost bordering vaporwave in a way.
Thank you to BOYO, aka Robert Tilden, for making music that I can robot dance to (in a cool way).
