The Silent Argument
A fluctuating soundscape of anger and alt-rock wind-ups make "I Think I Hate It Here" Boyish's swan song on breakups.
The track kept playing with my emotions, it made me feel melancholic with its soft almost devoid vocal effects, and then all of a sudden it pulled me in with an aggressive break and chorus section that boosted the energy from 5 to 11. The track is a journey and I think that's all part of the process of the song.
It's about a breakup, right? And breakups have ups and downs and "I Think I Hate It Here" hits that right on the head.
You might hate the place, but the song is pretty great.
