I find myself speaking in superlatives quite often but this could very well be my favorite release of the year so far. At the very least, I can't remember the last time a song made such a deep impression on me. Love at first listen it was indeed.
Each layer of this track is composed in a brilliant manner and they all work together like a perfectly layered cake. Those crooning guitar riffs and sweet piano accents at the end act as the frosting on the top. Oh, and I forgot to mention, the percussion breakdowns into the island/tropical vibe are fantastic. This song really does just scratch all of my proverbial music itches.
Nicolas Muñoz, the 21-year-old, Norweigan-Chilean man who is Boy Pablo, writes and sings with a certain vulnerability that I would expect to be endearing and relatable for a lot of listeners. He is set to release his official debut album this upcoming Fall.
