I’ve said this before, and I’ll continue to remind you, I love every note that comes out of Australia. I don’t know what everyone is doing down there with those gorgeous coral reefs and strange animals, but I swear to god the most sublime sounds in this universe are born from that continent.
Today I’m sharing one of Australia’s latest gems: Boy and Bear’s new single. “Walk The Wire” is featured on the band’s brand spanking new album, Limit of Love, which was released earlier this month. (The new album debuted at #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart. Of course.)
What do I love most about this track? David Hosking’s casual and unconcerned vocals. I don’t mean that disrespectfully in the least. I just love the aloofness this song possesses. The synth and instruments beg you to shuffle your feet, but then Hosking seems to be talking over it all. A half-hearted conversation. I love it.
