Why do we like this?
Probably one of the more powerful Bon Iver tracks to date, "Towers" is just that one song you can't quite shake. The folky breakdowns and orchestral climaxes are paired stunningly with Justin Vernon's angelic falsetto harmonies. Not since "Skinny Love" have I heard such a beautifully haunting track. Bursting with emotive vocals and bright harmonies, you feel at ease and somewhat nostalgic of summertime. If Vernon's staying true to the thematic seasonal albums he's already created, we're going to be in for a treat of a summer playlist for 2012.
The single for this track will come backed by a cover of John Prine's "Bruised Orange (Chain of Sorrow)" and is available on Bon Iver and will drop as a 12" in the U.S. on March 6.
