Why do we like this?
I came across this remix a few days ago, and at first I wasn't going to post it. I mean, the original is in my opinion Bon Iver at his absolute best. A man and his acoustic guitar sharing his deepest, darkest, innermost self. It's almost like an untouchable song, as it's so perfect in it's simplicity.
Then come Owsey and Resotone, two lads from Belfast who are known for creating dreamy ambient soundscapes. While they don't necessarily give "re: Stacks" the electronic treatment that has proven so popular, they do add a few dabs of this and that to help pull even more beauty out of the original.
From gentle drums and strings to the perfectly placed thunder at the end of the track, they managed to keep the simplicity and overall feel of "re: Stacks" while still adding their own flavor. And when that chorus hits, it just makes me melt. Bravo to you Owsey and Resotone!
Check out the track as a free download on Owsey and Resotone's SoundCloud pages. Warning though: it just might leave you breathless.
