I wish I was good enough to DJ. I mean, I get beat-matching -- I'm sure it wouldn't be the worst thing you've ever heard in your life. But I'd probably struggle to hold a few hammered clubbers on my dance floor.
What wows me about a good DJ these days is that they don't just go and mix a killer set, but most of them bring some of their own (by definition) "bangers" to the decks. What an amazing feeling to see your music to spark a reaction in an entire dance floor. Confidence points +10!
Team Body Language has created one of those club-floor fillers here, combining five Brooklyn individuals who power up (yes, because Power Rangers are still cool, right?) and bring what I interpret as a modern day incarnate of HADOUKEN! Turn your nose up all you want, but at the height of their game everyone wanted to see them and draw the young hyper crowds like they did. With house-infused production, bouncy bass, and female vocal samples, Body Language has made the keyboard a cool instrument to use again, and certainly got the club vibe spot on.
Whether you're gearing up for a party this weekend, dealing with a hangover, recovering from tinnitus after standing in front of that speaker, or having attracted a rather delightful new friend thanks to some beer goggles, "Really Love" should remind you it was worth it all for the music and the good times.
