At first glance, the playful and sassy "Call It Off" is like if 808s-era Kanye produced a Gwen Stefani record. (Or maybe make that Blondie.) But it's so much more. It's both an angry assertion of independence from a jilted lover, and a pulsating, ADHD-driven toast to life.
"Call it off, call it off, call it off / You never gave a damn," the song hisses followed by a cathartic beat drop. This would be a great song to play in a crowded basement club on a warm August night, moments blur into one another, you meet someone new who spends the night in your arms; your friends are lost in the haze. It's like that – seductive and mad.
Blondage is a Copenhagen-based experimental pop duo, that are like a less exposed Charli XCX. You may know them from their previous releases "Stoned" and "Boss."
Don't call off "Call It Off"'s feels. Highly recommend.
