Why do we like this?
A while back, when The Rolling Stones had released one of their various sub-par releases (I think it was Bridges to Babylon), I wondered why people continued to buy their albums despite the fact they were a mere shadow of their former selves. Then, recently, as I was looking through my own music collection, it all made perfect sense. There are certain bands in our lives that we will never be able to leave behind. No matter what they put out, we'll always remember that time and place when we first heard them, and for that reason we'll continue buying their music -- regardless of how crappy it might become.
For me, that band is Blink 182. I can put on any of their albums and it immediately takes me back to high school. Driving around in warm weather with a Blink 182 track blasting through my car stereo is one of the best feelings that music has ever given me -- being young, stupid, and not having a care in the world. Even at the ripe old age of 30, screaming out the lyrics to all of my favorite Blink songs while getting strange looks from pedestrians immediately makes me feel better no matter what happened to me during the day.
With that, I share this electronic remix I found of "Everytime I Look For You." I just hope it brings as much joy to you as it did for me when I stumbled across it.
