Why do we like this?
Indie jazz group Pomplamoose first caught my attention with their rather surprising cover of Lady Gaga's "Telephone", which was covered per my recommendation on The Music Ninja. I instantly went out to grab their album, only to realize that they'd just released a new cover/tribute album. Slowly, the pieces began to fall together. The style of their "Telephone" video was awfully familiar to something I'd seen nearly a year ago, though I couldn't put my name on it. However, upon seeing the names of this duo, it didn't take me long to remember where I had seen Jack Conte: namely, his Youtube hit for the song "Out of Nowhere". Combined with Nataly Dawn, this is bloody brilliant!
Their new album covers a number of artists, including Michael Jackson's "Beat It" and Beyonce's "All the Single Ladies".
