It is my belief that R&B, and appreciating R&B, is the evolution of taste, the maturation of music appreciation. Much like classic house, when the ears and soul finally attune to R&B, rest assured you're an evolved musical human.
Why? Notice that when you play R&B or classic house for people with a harsh or hyper limited taste in music they will describe it as 'cheesy.' Notice also, that most of these people will be uncomfortable about other aspects of their independent thought or personal expression. They most likely will be uncomfortable with any emotional expression that revolves around love or spirit/soul.
This isn't a universal truth by any means, but it is my own observation based off of a lifetime of evolving my own tastes and subjecting countless people to various musical styles.
Maybe I'm getting too deep with this, but deep is where I like to be. Deep is also where R&B likes to be - deep as in the water depths of the human subconscious and those urges that reside there.
Blasko knows about deep. Based out of Melbourne, "Another Love" is tight as much as it's fluid, tender as well as tough. Released via French label, Yunizon, Blasko's coming out the box hot. Hopefully we'll hear more like "Another Love", soon.
Enjoy!
