It's very interesting that when you talk to any music nerd, regardless of the genre, you're likely to encounter the claim that some of the most interesting and dedicated artists are the least known. On a wide scale, San Diego's Blame One is no Jay-Z. Still, The SD OG has clocked in decades of work in his hometown and has grown into a seasoned and mature lyricist.
One of the earliest collaborators of bubbling producer/DJ/MC Exile, Blame One is an original Dirty Science member. Respected by MCs across the globe, Blame's built a foundation of respect and a discography that still increases to this day.
His latest milestone will be a collaborative album with up-and-coming NYC producer J57 of the Brown Bag AllStars crew. Walk In The Sun is due out later this summer and "They Don't Know" is the first taste from the LP. Deliberate and meaningful, Blame shares his own journey through faith in the span of three verses. Blame steers away from preachy Cosby-isms and corny generalizations and instead spends his bars sharing formative experiences in the way only a solid MC could.
If you like your hip-hop hearty and timeless, do yourself a favor and add Blame to the rotation.
