Why do we like this?

One chillwave cover I certainly hadn't expected to hear was Modest Mouse's "Float On." Blackbird Blackbird is currently finding himself, like many musicians today, catapulted into the limelight by means of the blogosphere.

With hallmark synths and a whole lot of reverb, he has created a sound not unlike that of his peers Memoryhouse and Million Young. Where's he's different, I believe, is that he did a chillwave cover of Modest Mouse.

Keep an eye out for this guy. He just got selected to play Hype Machine's CMJ showcase, and I'm pretty sure it won't be the last that's seen of him.
