Adelaide musical collective Bjear has taken a different approach with latest single "Firefall." While rooted in the indie-folk of singer songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Bear McKee's previous releases, the introduction of an electronic element gives their sound much more depth, with "Firefall" easily the best release from Bjear yet.
The band is a revolving door of talented artists anchored by McKee's musical vision. "Firefall" features Dan White on vocals, Luke Vianello on drums and a fella by the name of Frank on strings. Together they have crafted a rich, earthy tune that mixers synthetic and organic instruments in a warm embrace that soars with White's earnest voice.
McKee had this to say about the songs origins;
"Firefall was an old camp tradition in Yosemite National Park. A giant bonfire, heaved from the mountain every evening. As the crowd cheered, the embers would cascade, holding their glow as they fell back to the dirt. It's a cycle. So is this life. And so, as we grow and fail - win and lose - we too are but embers in the great Firefall. As King Solomon observed, all is meaningless, a chasing after the wind."
"Firefall" is a beautiful song showcasing Bjear's incredible creativity, and with an album set for release this December, this young up and coming act are one to keep an eye on.
